About Jarrod
I am a creative, eager, and productive kind of person. This goes great with my Bachelor of Science in Audio Production from the Art Institute of Austin. I am currently working for Lost Pines Cowboy Church and Rumi’s Tavern, doing their live sound. I’ve recorded, mixed, and mastered EPs, albums, music videos, commercials, SFX, ADR, etc. I’ve worked on genres including, alternative rock, country, singer/songwriter, classical, EDM, and jazz. I’ve ran multiple live shows around the Austin/Cedar Park area, some known places like Salt Lick, Cedar Park Mayor Matt Powell‘s house event, Art Institute of Austin, Lago Vista Golf Course, and bars like Rumi’s Tavern, Shenanigans, and Uncle Gary’s Bar. I am very knowledgeable in anything associated with audio, computers, and electronics. I’ve worked since I was 16 and knew, from the get go, to do your best and go beyond what is necessary to get the job done and it will pay off.
Portfolio DVD
Here we have my Portfolio Demo Reel. It contains a variety of my best works in a cohesive and professional video, enjoy!
Audio Work
I was given this song already recorded by Robert Nabbe and I feel it’s my best example of my mixing/mastering. Enjoy!
Song: Shore
Artist: Motor Tapes
This was my first song recorded at a live show, that I was in charge of. I then editied, mixed, and mastered it, leading to my best live show recording. Enjoy!
Song: Field Trip
Artist: Dead Lifeboats
This is a song, off of the Dead Lifeboats’ studio album, that I was in charge of. I recorded, mixed, and mastered this song, and it became my best work from start to finish in a studio. Enjoy!
Song: Into Your Lungs
Artist: Dead Lifeboats
I recorded an album for a country singer/songwriter. This was my first album done in the studio by myself. It’s a 12 song album that included 30+ hours in the studio and finding talent, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and pre- and post- production. Also has me on electric guitar, Enjoy!
Song: It’s Gunna Be Alright
Artist: Travis Sutton
The goal for this song was to create an orchestral song from only a musical score. I chose Frédéric Chopin’s Op 28 No 6. I feel it shows my understanding of music theory and the program Logic seeing as how that’s what I used to create, edit, and mix this song. Enjoy!
Song: Op 28 No 6
Artist: Frédéric Chopin
I created this song using Logic loops and Logic instruments. Again shows my understanding of music theory, Logic, and different genres. Enjoy!
Song: Randy Trancy
Artist: Jarrod Wright (Loops from Logic)
My first song as a freelancer. Chris Smothers and I recorded this song in his studio. We worked on it together and, due to the level of production and engineering, it became the standard for most of his songs to come. Enjoy!
Song: Turn This Thing Around
Artist: Chris Smothers
I was given this song already recorded by George Oldziey. I think it shows a good amount of mixing work due to the number of different instruments who each needed their own sound and voice. Enjoy!
Song: Oh, Suzanna
Artist: Suzi Stern
This was the title track to Travis Sutton‘s studio album. Enjoy!
Song: Life Of A Bard
Artist: Travis Sutton
Charles’s Audio Work
And Charles has done his fair share of audio work as well. In particular he DJed for KTSW-FM 89.9, The Other Side of Radio. He co-hosted a new wave show with his partner Jesse Williams called “Ranch It Up!“. Below are several air-checks from the show.
Week One of Ranch It Up!
Charles also worked on a radio drama that parodied Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I hope this gives you an idea of the work we do. Feel free to check out our Photo & Video Portfolio!
